Who are the Beavers?

Beavers is a section of the Scouting family. Each Beaver group is called a beaver colony. Beavers is the second section of Scouting which caters for 6-8 years old. After Beavers there is Cubs and then Scouts. All of these have a section in the 6th Exeter (St. Thomas) Scout Group.

Because Beavers is aimed at such a young age, activities on offer are very fun and focused on preparing young people for Cubs and further Scouting. Beavers may do some activities such as sleepovers, games, campfire cooking, blindfold trails and much more!

Every other year there is a Beaveree which is when Beavers from all over Exeter gather together and have a big fun day which has a different theme each time. Such themes have been pirates, space, wild west and many more!

Beavers is just a great experience for all youngsters and great for making friends.

Subscriptions

Subs are paid to the section regularly at £40 a term (3 terms a year). These subs are for activities within your child’s section and insurance. Details on how to pay this is below.

Gift Aid

The Scout Group runs a Gift Aid scheme, whereby the group can claim back from the Government the tax paid on subs. This is purely voluntary and at least one parent must be paying an amount of income tax or capital gains tax at least equal to the tax we reclaim on the payments.

Please see the Gift Aid declaration form and if you have any queries with this please contact the Groups Gift Aid coordinator or a leader.
