Who are the Cubs?

Cubs Climbing

Cubs is a section of the Scouting family. Each Cub group is called a Cub colony. Cubs is the preliminary section of Scouting which caters for 8-10½ years old. After Cubs there is Scouts. All three of these have a section in the 6th Exeter St. Thomas Scout Group.

Because Cubs is aimed at such a young age, activities on offer are very fun and focused on preparing young people for Scouts and further Scouting. Cubs may do some activities such as sleepovers, games, campfire cooking, blindfold trails and much more!

Cubs is just a great experience for all youngsters and great for making friends.

Subscriptions

Subs are paid to the section regularly at £35 a term (3 terms a year) or £8.75 a month (12 months a year). These subs are for activities within your child’s section and insurance. Details on how to pay this is below.

Gift Aid

The Scout Group runs a Gift Aid scheme, whereby the group can claim back from the Government the tax paid on subs. This is purely voluntary and at least one parent must be paying an amount of income tax or capital gains tax at least equal to the tax we reclaim on the payments.

Please see the Gift Aid declaration form and if you have any queries with this please contact the Groups Gift Aid coordinator or a leader.
